founded Standard Investment Bank Ltd in 1995 as a licensed
stockbroker at the Hazina Office. James grew the business over the
years focusing on high value customer relationship management and
integrity. By 2000, the company had increased its volume of equity
trading business by a significant multiplier factor and sped up the
rankings table to the No 1 position well ahead of more established
and older stockbrokers.
2005, James steered the business into transaction advisory services
and over the next few years took leadership in this new area of
services as well. The company later secured an investment banking
license and in 2007 moved to the new Head Office and secured the Unit
Trust License. In 2007, the company traded KShs 20 billion. In
April 2008, the company had accumulated total shareholder funds of
KShs 750 million.
